An expert in venture capital, Patrick spent ten years of his professional career advancing through the ranks of T-Venture, the Corporate VC firm of Deutsche Telekom AG. He wound up as CEO before moving on to join CommerzVentures.
In the years before, he honed his skills working for Allianz Venture Partners, Deutsche Bank Technology & Services, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. His approach has always been exit-focused with a view to invest knowledge and expertise alongside capital. Previous successful exits include the likes of Grouper Networks Inc. (Sony), Jajah Inc. (Telefonica), Ruckus Wireless Inc. (IPO), Netviewer (Citrix), Swoodoo (Kayak), KaufDA (Axel Springer), clickandbuy (Deutsche Telekom), and MyTaxi (Daimler).
Prior to joining CommerzVentures as MD in October 2014, Stefan spent twelve years at Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures where he invested in disruptive technology and internet start-ups across Europe.
After leading Doughty Hanson's Series A investment in SoundCloud, he went on to serve on its board for five years, helping to shape it into one of the fastest-growing European internet companies. As an investor, he looks for founders with ambition, big ideas, and the ability to demonstrate how they intend to dominate a particular space.
In his former life, he occupied various sales and product management positions in telecoms. He holds an MBA from Insead and a Dipl.-Ing. from RWTH Aachen.
Heiko is Senior Investment Manager and one of the founding members of CommerzVentures.
An investment banker by trade with a passion for technology innovation, he has been providing corporate finance advice to tech companies and banks for years. He continued his career at Commerzbank's group strategy department, where he co-headed the overarching digitisation and innovation topics for the bank, before kicking off CommerzVentures in October 2014.
Heiko is a mentor with Startup Bootcamp Fintech and FinTech Innovation Lab in London and holds an MBA from the prestigious University of Chicago Booth Business School.
With a background in the non-profit sector and his penchant for sustainable investment, Paul adds another dimension to the talent mix at CommerzVentures.
In his previous position as Chief Scientific Officer for Finanztip, he provided consumer financial advisory via their website. Earlier in his career, he co-founded and successfully exited a Fintech start-up in the credit rating space (PSR Rating). He also advised banks in setting up greenfield operations with The Boston Consulting Group.
Paul is a mentor with Startup Bootcamp Fintech and Techstars Berlin. He holds an MBA degree from Harvard University, where he received the Satchu Burgstone Prize for Entrepreneurship.
Jonas joined CommerzVentures in October 2016 as Investment Manager.
Before joining our team, Jonas spent three years in investment banking, most recently as an Associate in Commerzbank’s Leveraged Finance Group. In that position, he originated and executed buyout transactions for financial sponsors throughout Europe. Prior to that, he gained work experience on the buy-side while interning with two Private Equity funds.
Jonas holds an MA from University of St. Gallen, where he was an active member of a student-led entrepreneurship society and also served as an advisor for a seed-stage wireless sensor startup. Jonas graduated with a BSc from Maastricht University and completed exchange semesters in both Beijing and São Paulo.
Jenny is a highly experienced Executive Assistant, having previously worked at Egon Zehnder, Linklaters, and Baker & McKenzie. A level-headed problem solver, she is the heart and soul of the CommerzVentures team and ensures the smooth running of our daily operations.
